iPhone cameras save photos as HEIC by default. XM's document upload system does not accept HEIC files. The system may silently accept the upload but reject during review, or show an upload error.

Expired identity document

XM only accepts valid, non-expired documents. An ID that expired even one day before submission is rejected.

Name mismatch between ID and registration form

The name on your identity document must match exactly with the name you entered during account registration. Middle name present on ID but absent on registration form, nickname used instead of legal name, or different spelling (e.g. "Mohammed" vs "Muhammad") all cause rejection.

Contact XM live chat with your account number. For minor name differences (omitted middle name, spelling variation): XM can sometimes accept with a written explanation. Bank statement older than 3 months

XM requires proof of address dated within the last 3 months. An older statement is automatically rejected even if the address is valid.

Download a fresh bank statement from your bank's mobile app today — it will be dated today, automatically within the 3-month window. Most banking apps allow immediate PDF download. This is the fastest proof of address option for any country.

PO Box address on bank statement

XM requires a residential address, not a PO Box. If your bank statement shows only a PO Box number, it is rejected.

Use an alternative proof of address: utility bill (electricity, water, gas, internet) at your residential address dated within 3 months. Government-issued letters with your address (tax notice, official correspondence) are also accepted in many regions.

Name on address proof doesn't match ID name

The name on your proof of address must match the name on your identity document. If your bank account is in a different name (spouse, parent), the proof is rejected.
